Urgent Care

Armadale Urgent Care is open from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM on weekdays and Noon to 5:00 PM on Saturdays

We wanted our patients to have access to Armadale for any urgent situations that come up after regular business hours. We know the urgent care and emergency service hospitals in the area can get backed up, and now we can provide a comfortable environment with familiar faces for our patients to come and receive care for conditions that need urgent attention.

Urgent Care FAQ

How do I know if my dog or cat has an issue that should be seen right at urgent care?

The easiest thing to do is call 919.847.1972.  Our veterinary nurses will help you decide what to do based on your pet and symptoms.  We'll try and help you make the right decision for your pet.

Do you take appointments?

No, urgent care hours will be walk-in only.  We'll see patients based on how critical the case is and who arrived first.  We do highly reccommend calling ahead so that we can help you determine if urgent care is right for what's happening and to let you know what our wait time is like.

Can I come in for routine issues, such as vaccines?

Yes, if you call in first we may be able to see you for something more routine, however, as urgent care hours are more costly to run, the visit will be more expensive with potentially longer wait times during the evening, so we reccommend utilizing our regular operating hours.

Can I pick up prescriptions or other products during urgent care hours?

Yes, but our urgent care staff is limited and may be busy with sick patients so you may have to wait longer than if you came during our regular business hours.

Are urgent care hours open to non-Armadale clients?

Yes - while we are starting this service for our Armadale clients, we plan to help other pets in the community who may need our services.

Will there be different doctors during our urgent care hours?

No, our urgent care doctors will be the ones you know and love from our regular hours.  Dr. Oldson who has been with us for a couple of years now and has worked in emergency and urgent care elsewhere in Raleigh is helping us run this new service.  Depending on the day you may also see Dr. Winemiller, Dr. Fraizer, Dr. Gavitt, or Dr. McConnell.
